Bio-chemistry
Welcome to the Department of Biochemistry at NC..
The department of biochemistry provides tuition for under graduate students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and MLS programs. Courses offered range from basic biochemistry to more advanced topics in nutrition and metabolism, genetics and molecular biology and number of integrated modules. The department has faculty members’ actively involved in research areas such as pathogenesis of severe malaria, Diabetes, Nutrition, Cancer, etc. Description of the research interests of the faculty can be found at staff web pages, further description of the courses taught can be found here (Nile College Web site (www.niluniversity-edu.com).
Research Activities
Our Research Group will be an interdisciplinary group where malaria and diabetes questions are deeply investigated in order to find their optimum solutions, based on research and innovative approach. The group way of thinking is grounded on inquiry and experimental approach. Our lab work will be based on conceptual thinking resulting in fresh and strong ideas that give clear and unique solutions to the research. We create, by exploring new fields and advanced technologies to find adequate and deeply scientific-based solutions.
Research Interests
Malaria:
To test interactions between Cytokines, hormones, antibodies and free radicals in the whole population and during pregnancy, and to investigate the molecular bases for these interactions.
Diabetes:
To test interactions between Cytokines, hormones, free radicals and antibodies to investigate the molecular base for these interactions
