Last week, Nile University proudly participated in the advancing Medical Education Conference held in the vibrant city of Kigali, Rwanda. This remarkable event brought together representatives from 115 medical schools across the continent, fostering collaboration and innovation in medical education.
Our dean of faculty of medicine , Professor Suleiman Hussein Suleiman led the Sudanese delegation, playing an integral role in the formation of the newly established consortium of African Medical Schools. Nile University was an active contributor to the committee tasked with drafting the bylaws and regulations for this important consortium showing our commitment to advancing medical education in Africa.
The conference was not just about discussions; it served as a valuable opportunity for networking. Professor Suleiman engaged in meaningful conversations with several deans from various African medical institutions, paving the way for potential bilateral agreements that will enhance collaboration and educational exchange.
A standout moment of the conference was the meeting with the President of the World Federation for Medical Education, who expressed a strong commitment to support Nile University by providing essential educational resources during the crucial post-war recovery phase. This pledge underscores the important role our university is poised to play in the future of African medical education.
We are excited about the possibilities that stem from this conference and look forward to strengthening our partnerships and educational initiatives in the coming years!!
