Community Nursing
The Department of Community in the Faculty of Nursing is dedicated to enhancing community health and well-being through education, research, and practice. The department provides students with courses and training programs that equip them to work with diverse communities and help solve health inequities. Faculty members do community health research on topics such as chronic disease management, mental health, and environmental health.
The Department works with community organizations to install treatment and management practices that improve health outcomes. In nursing practice, the department highlights the importance of cultural competence, social justice, and advocacy.
Graduates are prepared to work in a range of settings such as public health agencies, community clinics, schools, and non-profit organizations. In addition, the department works with hospitals and healthcare facilities to provide actual training opportunities for its staff members.
Child Health Nursing
The Department of Child Health Nursing in the Faculty of Nursing oversees teaching nursing students how to care for children from infancy to adolescence. The department is dedicated to promoting children’s health and well-being, preventing illnesses, and addressing various health disorders that impact children.
Child growth and development, pediatric nursing care, child psychology, child nutrition, and child health promotion are among the courses offered by the department. Students learn how to use specialized equipment and special skills for pediatric care.

Medical Nursing
The Faculty of Nursing’s Department of Medical Nursing oversees instructing and preparing nursing students for careers in the medical nursing area. Students learn how to care for patients with acute and chronic medical illnesses, as well as those who need specific medical procedures.
Anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology and medical-surgical nursing are all included in the department syllabi. In addition, students study patient evaluation, diagnosis, and therapy planning. The department enables students to stay updated with the latest developments in the profession and demonstrates the significance of evidence-based practice.
This department’s faculty members employ competent nurses with expertise in a range of healthcare environments. They bring their knowledge into the classroom to provide the students opportunity for hands-on learning.
A proposal of a medical nursing master program is currently being considered, but has stopped for reasons beyond the university control.
Maternal Health Department
The department of maternal health nursing in a faculty of nursing is responsible for providing educational and training. The focuses is on the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as the care of newborn babies.
The curriculum in this department includes courses on anatomy and physiology, reproductive health, prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum care, neonatal care, breastfeeding support, and family planning. Students also learn about common complications that can arise during pregnancy and childbirth and their management.
In addition to classroom instruction, students in typically participate in clinical rotations where they gain hands-on experience working with pregnant women and newborns. They may work in hospitals, clinics, or community health centers.
Graduates of this program are prepared to work as maternal health nurses in a variety of settings. They may work in hospitals or clinics providing prenatal care or assisting with deliveries. They may also work as lactation consultants or provide postpartum care to new mothers and their babies.
